Certification

Do you want to certify your products or services? Various products and/or services can be certified for the EU Ecolabel. Having the label allows you to prove that your product or service is more sustainable than comparable products/services. Each product group has different requirements which cover the use of raw materials, energy, water, harmful substances, waste, and packaging.

Which products and services are eligible?

Products or services are eligible for the EU Ecolabel if:

• They are supplied for distribution, consumption, or use in the market of the European Union, Iceland, Lichtenstein, and Norway
• And in one of the non-food or non-medical product groups for which criteria are available.

Who can submit an application?

Producers, manufacturers, importers, service providers, wholesalers, and retailers that produce products or provide services that fit within one of the defined criteria for product and service groups are eligible to apply for a certificate. Retailers can apply for a certificate for products that are brought to the market under their brand name.
